Fall is rapidly approaching (at least I hope it is), and it’s the perfect season for cuddling up in bed with a good book. I know how hard it can be to find Christian fiction for teens, so I’m going to recommend my 5 favorite books EVER. (Please note: These are not listed in order of preference.)
The Beautiful Pretender by Melanie Dickerson
I love this book. Well, to be honest, I love all books by Melanie Dickerson, but this is one of my favorites. Avelina, maidservant to Lady Dorothea, is forced to take Dorothea’s place at a 2 week long party. The party’s purpose is to find a wife for Lord Thornbeck. All Avelina has to do is keep her status a secret and not get chosen by the margrave. But when his attraction for her grows, can she successfully maneuver his attentions away from her?
My takeaway: Being noble is not based on outward appearance or social standing. It’s about the nobility of your heart.
Ladies of Distinction Series by Jen Turano
This is my all time favorite series. And BELIEVE ME, I’ve read a lot of them. This one takes the cake.
The characters are so relatable, the plot twists are genius, and after rereading it countless times, it’s still the best series.
Just a little summary from the first book to get you going: “When Eliza’s hapless attempts to regain her fortune put her right in Hamilton’s path, sparks instantly begin to fly. The discovery of a common nemesis causes them to join forces, but with all their plans falling by the wayside and their enemies getting the better of them, it will take a riot of complications for Hamilton and Eliza to realize that God just might have had a better plan in mind all along.”
Regal Hearts by Livy Jarmusch
I can’t say enough good things about this book. I put it in the same league as Melanie Dickerson and Jen Turano, and that’s high praise. Here’s what it’s about:
“Following the dramatic birth of her royal daughters, the Queen of Bella-Adar is murdered by the merciless sword of an evil usurper. The helpless princesses are placed in the care of the URIA, an undercover organization who safely extracts and protects the girls from a tragic fate. Sixteen years later, Lena Bodner encounters a stranger who uncovers secrets from her past…”
My takeaway: God has a plan for all of us. No matter who we think we are, He calls us royalty. Somewhere ahead of us, He has a kingdom for us to rule.
A Light for Christ Trilogy by Aleigha Israel
“King Raymond is ruthless. He will stop at nothing to see that every Christian is diminished. But Anna Haddington doesn’t understand why she must keep quiet about her faith. When her plans to stay with her aunt in Carpathia go quickly awry, Anna finds it takes all that is in her to trust God with the outcome.
Will Anna stand strong and not waver in her faith? Or will she crumble under the rule of the heartless king?”
This trilogy is SOO powerful, and somehow it effectively shows the power of God’s love in an entertaining, suspenseful way.
Ladies of the Manor by Roseanna White
THIS. SERIES. 😍😍😍
I have all the feelings for this series. I’m so extremely happy that I stumbled upon it. I’m so sad that it had to end because I love it so much.
This series is suspenseful, romantic, Christian, inspiring, and just everything you could ever want in a book. It’s completely clean and Christian, but it’s sooo INTRIGUING and AMAZING.
It follows the story of a pair of jewels that everyone wants to get their hands on. A group of friends find out they have the jewels, and their lives completely change. Warning: This series may make you cry and laugh and feel every emotion possible.
SPOILER ALERT: All these books have happy endings. I would NEVER recommend a book that didn’t, just because I don’t want you guys to have to go through the pain of a sad ending.
I hope you guys have a great time reading these AMAZING books, and when you finish these and you’re out of reading material, just search “Christian fiction for teens” and I’m sure you’ll find some that you love.
